Rare archive footage and intimate insights from friends, lovers, family, colleagues and himself, portray his life from the beginning of his fractured family background to the peaks of rock stardom and down into the depths after a freak accident in Copenhagen removed his sense of taste and smell and seriously affected his ability to deal with his unravelling personal and professional life.
A feature-length theatrical documentary written and directed by Richard Lowenstein, director of the majority of both INXS and Michael’s music videos and the 1986 feature film, Dogs in Space, in which Michael played the lead, Mystify premiered at TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL 2019, and this is the first time it will be presented in Athens .

Α Dog Called Money (94’)
Athens Premiere
UK, 2019 | 94’
Director: Seamus Murphy
A uniquely intimate journey through the inspiration, writing and recording of a PJ Harvey record, as imaginative as the creative process it documents.
Seeking first-hand experience of the countries she wanted to write about, Harvey accompanied award-winning photographer, director and writer Seamus Murphy, on some of his worldwide reporting trips in Afghanistan, Kosovo, and Washington DC. Harvey collected words, Murphy collected images. Back home, the words become poems, songs, then an album, which is recorded in an unprecedented art experiment in Somerset House, London. By capturing the immediacy of their encounters with the people and places they visited, Murphy shows the humanity at the heart of the work, tracing the sources of the songs, their special metamorphosis into recorded music, and,
ultimately, cinema.
