By now, you'll know that people matter at Gimme Shelter Film Festival, so we have to take a minute here to introduce you to our very own. This small team of dedicated individuals come together every year to make the festival possible. Here's a little bit about what they do to bring the vision to life, and what they do the rest of the year round too...
THE FOUNDERS
DIMITRIS PAPANDREOU
Artistic Director, GSFF
Founder & Managing Partner, Fairplay
After an initial spell in Media and Advertising, in the mid 90’s Dimitris turned to Sports Marketing. By the year 2000 he created Fairplay, a platform for turning creativity, knowledge and passion for sports and music into original concepts and unique experiences. With high standards and measurable tangible returns, Fairplay is known for some of the most significant and authentic sports and entertainment projects of the last 20 years in Greece. Dimitris has published several articles and essays, as well as participated in conferences, educational and post-graduate programmes in Greece and elsewhere as a keynote speaker, lecturer/professor, expert consultant, curator and moderator. As the festival’s promoter and artistic director, he is responsible for almost everything GSFF: from movie selection and screening schedule, to curating and moderating panel discussions.
MARINA DANEZI
Film Director / Producer,
Laika Productions
Known for her disarming realism and deep social sensitivity, Marina is a Film Director and Producer responsible for awarded short and feature documentaries like “Scavengers’ Union”, “We Are Gypsies”, “90 Years PAOK - Nostalgia For The Future”, and the feature film “The Sentimentalists”. Since 2014, she has been producing and directing the TV Doc Series “Ta Stekia” and has recently has turned to music videos, directing for the likes of Pavlos Pavlidis (Alliotiko Paidaki) and Chick’n (Is This Cher?). Now responsible for the venue's Public Relations, Marina was for many years the artistic director of Gagarin 205 whilst, through Laika Productions, producing a variety of concerts and festivals with domestic and international artists. ​
